Vance Astrovik was the only son of a small town butcher and his wife in the Marvel Universe, the teenage Vance Astro was sought out by his older self from the 31st century. This alternete Vance Astro, would become a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The elder Vance Astro intended to convince his younger self not to enter the astronaut training program and thus preventing the experiences and circumstances that would lead him to become a Guardian of the Galaxy. In their encounter, psychic feedback between the two counterparts brains occurred, unleashing the latent mutant psionic power of the younger Vance Astrovik. The psionic powers of the Guardian Vance Astro had not emerged until many centuries in the future. Hence, the meeting of the teenage Astrovik and the Guardian Astro marked the point at which two alternate timelines diverged.

Powers

Vance Astro is a mutant possessed with the psionic power of psychokinesis, the ability to affect matter with is mind. In some unknown manner Astro's brain generates psionic energy which he is able to project as concussive force. Astro can focus the energy at will, creating anything from a narrow two-inch diameter beam of force to a 360 degree expanding force sphere. At maximum concentration Astro's narrow focus is capable of knocking seven 250-pound men standing ten feet tall from him at a distance of five feet. Major Victory does not have the mental discipline to use his psionic power delicately. He only mastered his abilities to the point of his psycho-blast.

Abilities

Major Victory can not remove his protective bodysuit. If he does so, the delayed effects of aging will kill him. Major Victory is an above average athlete with a basic knowledge of unarmed combat which he learned when he was in the Air-Force.
