Maria Simpson is a lovely young girl who serves as the Royal Executioner to the Kinglet of Phreex.

She has soft brown hair, dark gentle eyes, and fair cheeks. She wears a simple white robe.

She became the Royal Executioner when her father was destroyed in an earthquake, but she has never executed anyone, because the Kinglet always loses his resolve. She has worn out three blades by sharpening them, but has never had the chance to use any, much to her dismay.

When the Kinglet did finally decide to execute Wart-on-the-Nose, a wooden cigar store Indian, she balked.
