The mother of Little Red Riding Hood is very often forgotten from the story and very rarely given much to do other than sending her daughter off to visit her grandmother. This is odd as, it is believed, the original tale was told to warn children of what would happen if they don't listen to their mothers (such as, "Don't talk to strangers").
