Albert Jerome was San Francisco police detective who was investigating the disappearance of Doctor Holcolm and the strange man known as Rhamda Avec who had been inquiring about the doctor.
After further investigation Albert Jerome discovered that a doorway to another dimension, called the Blind Spot, exists in a mansion built in 1891. Not only that but Rhamda Avec is from the Blind Spot, and that is where Holcolm has disappeared.
Suspecting Rhamda Avec of foul play in the matter of Professor Holcolm's disappearance, Detective Jerome devises a chest plate designed to fire six bullets concurrently. Instead of using bullets, Jerome has gas pellets made to knock out Rhamda, but the pellets proved ineffectual against Rhamda Avec who simply leaves after the failed attack. The only clue left behind is a card with Avec's name and the name of the morning newspaper.
Albert Jerome has the skills of a police officer, including detection abilities, negotiation skills, and knowledge and skills handling firearms. Jerome has skills in metal smithing and designing firearms.
