Once a prized, but sickly, pianist, Legato was kidnapped by a gangster. Her captor cured her ailments, but also replaced her hands with robotic ones, and she was used as a weapon. Legato resisted and, since escaping, has worked to seek revenge for people like her. She was hired by the Darkbringer to stop the trial of the leader of the Slavers to instead kill the man. She was convinced by Lightbringer to turn on her comrades with the promise of being able to play the piano one last time, which was accomplished using Lightbringer's powers.
