Doctor XXX kidnaps Mickey Mouse's dog to experiment on him. When Mickey storms his castle, the doctor attempts to kill him but...

Mickey then wakes up to learn it was all a bad dream.

*The Mad Doctor (1933)

*The short's horror overtones made it unusual for a Mickey Mouse cartoon. Some theaters refused to show it, believing it to be too scary for kids. At one time, it was banned in both Great Britain and Germany.
**Also peculiar (for obvious reasons) is Disney's use of "XXX". This name is not a sexual innuendo, but rather a pun on the film ''Doctor X'', released a year earlier.
***XXX was also an old reference to alcohol that was also seen in other cartoons at the time in which alcoholic beverages such as moonshine and beer were ranked from X to XXX based on quality and alcohol content.
