'''Pete''' (also known as '''Peg-Leg Pete''' or '''Bootleg Pete''') is a cartoon villain created in 1925 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He is the nemesis of Mickey Mouse, Oswald The Lucky Rabbit and Julius the Cat.

He is often depicted as the cartoon protagonist's abusive, cigar-smoking boss (though in the case of ''Steamboat Willie'', he could be considered a reasonable force), or a rival for the affection of Minnie Mouse or Sadie, being successful on rare occasion.

In some ''Alice Comedies'' cartoons, he can be seen commanding a group of mouse henchmen and was shown to be a member of a Cat Army in the ''Barnyard Battle''.

In ''The Cactus Kid'', he is the villainous “Pegleg Pedro” who threatens Minnie, prompting Mickey to rescue her while in ''The Chain Gang'', Pete assumes the role of a jailer. He oversees Mickey as a prison inmate and pursues him with bloodhounds when the mouse attempts to escape.

In the Oswald cartoon ''Broadway Folly,'' he is shown to have a son.
