Gnorm Gnat is a hairy, cynical gnat who serves as a straight man towards the other bugs' antics. He is frequently seen performing stand-up comedy, getting trapped under cellotape, trying to impress the female slug Natasha, and playing tennis. He is aware that he exists within a comic strip, and often points out that he rarely gets to say the punch-lines and argues with his author.

*''Gnorm Gnat'' (1973 - 1975)

* Much like the ''Jon'' comics featuring Garfield, Gnorm Gnat's comics were released without a copyright notice, releasing them into the public domain as copyrights were required to be written down on a work prior to 1977.
