Lyman is an insane redneck insect of an unknown species (likely a flea), he is Gnorm Gnat's not-too-loyal friend, who is prone to making insensitive jokes (sometimes unintentionally) at Gnorm's expense, as well as cliche pun jokes such as "What's Snu?". He can occasionally be seen running small businesses, selling drinks and cars.

*Gnorm Gnat (1973 - 1975)

* The name "Lyman" would be reused by Jim Davis for a character in ''Jon''''.''
*Much like the ''Jon'' comics featuring Garfield, Gnorm Gnat's comics were released without a copyright notice, releasing them into the public domain as copyrights were required to be written down on a work prior to 1977.
