'''Joe Stork''', the "purveyor of progeny to prince & proletarian", is a spindly bird that often makes baby deliveries to various characters inhabiting Coconino County.

In one strip, Ignatz tries to trick him into dropping a brick onto Krazy's head from above. In another strip, he accidentally fused two infant gardener snakes in his haste to deliver them to their parents, resulting in a two-headed snake with a split personality. The malevolent one, Riglius, eventually made off with their newly shed skin, leaving the kind one, Skwirmius, naked and alone, which prompted Joe to find a suitable skin for the snake in the form of a stocking while placing a rattle on Riglius’ tail to help distinguish the two.
