A '''Heffalump''' is an elephant-like monster that only seems to exist within imagination. Winnie-the-Pooh imagines them like one would count sheep to sleep, though said dreams turn into nightmares when his mind wanders to Heffalumps stealing his honey. In the first ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' book, Pooh unsuccessfully attempts to set up a Heffalump trap, which he ultimately falls victim to himself in ''House on Pooh Corner''.
