A cunning and ambitious young woman, '''Roxie Hart''' started out as a naive and disillusioned chorus girl who dreamt of becoming a famous vaudeville star. However, her aspirations led her down a path of deceit and manipulation.

Roxie is characterized by her narcissism and willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve her goals, even if it means betraying those closest to her. When she becomes involved in a scandalous affair and murders her lover, Fred Casely, she sees it as an opportunity to gain the attention and sympathy of the public.

Both equally vulnerable and calculating, she uses her charm and flirtatious nature to manipulate the men around her, including her husband, Amos, and her lawyer, Billy Flynn. She is willing to sacrifice anyone, including her fellow inmates and even her fake unborn child, in order to maintain her newfound celebrity status.
