Magnificus Sivana was the son of Dr. Sivana who was raised on the planet Venus after his father had been driven out of Europe by people who did not believe that Sivana's inventions could help mankind. He grew to be nearly as strong as Captain Marvel in the harsh Venusian jungles.

As an adult, Magnificus returned to Earth with his family and assisted his father as muscle for his scheme to use an army of giant frog from Venus, but after a fight with Captain Marvel, Magnificus was knocked unconscious and the frog along with Sivana's family were taken back to Venus on their space ship. When on Venus, Captain Marvel learns of Sivana's past and parts ways respectfully with Magnificus who admits that Captain Marvel was a pretty good guy.
