General Zaroff is the main antagonist of the 1924 short story "The Most Dangerous Game". He is an extremely successful big game hunter from Russia, who fled to his own private island after the Russian Revolution. Eventually, he became bored with hunting, and while he initially decided to hunt with a different weapon, he eventually realized what he needed was a new animal. Eventually, he realized that he could hunt human beings for sport. The main story takes place after a hunter named Rainsford finds himself on the island, and is hunted down by Zaroff.
