Samson gained an 11 year old sidekick whom he named David (rather than simply asking the boy what his name already was). David had been orphaned after being the sole survivor of a plane crash. Afterwards, Samson took him into his care. Although he has no superpowers, he's very good with both a slingshot and a lariat.
