'''Rover''' is a dog owned by Porky Pig, he is extremely affectionate towards Porky. The short begins with him explaining to a homeless dog how he got adopted by his "master" Porky and ends with him nearly falling to his death before Porky runs down and says "Oh puppy, s-speak to me, oh puppy!" with Rover waking up and saying "Gosh! I didn't know ya cared".

*Porky's Pooch (1941)

*Rover's first appearance, ''Porky's Pooch'', entered the public domain in 1969 as Warner Bros. - Seven Arts (the copyright holders at the time) failed to renew it.
*Despite Porky Pig being heavily featured in Rover's first appearance, Porky himself does not enter the public domain until 2031 due to his first cartoon, ''I Haven't Got a Hat'' (1935), still being under copyright.
*Rover's formula and wanting a master would later be reused by Chuck Jones for the character "Charlie Dog", none of Charlie Dog's cartoons have gone into the public domain as of now.
