Miss Susan Slate was the patient school teacher of "Comics" McCormick, the World's #1 Comic Book Fan. She was an attentive teacher who was concerned with her students well-being even visiting their homes to see how they were doing with their schoolwork. On once such visit she caught "Comics" McCormick hitting his geography book because he had been daydreaming about fighting the supervillain named the Beard with Bingo the Wonder Boy as Kid Conqueror. Though she was puzzled by his behavior she was amused by her students frenzied explanation of his actions.
