The Meat-Eater was a large theropod dinosaur that appeared in the 1932 novel ''King Kong''. It was one of the many prehistoric inhabitants of Skull Island.

After King Kong placed Ann Darrow up in a tree so he could attack the crew of the Skull Island expedition, she noticed the Meat-Eater nearby and started to scream. The carnivorous dinosaur began to approach, but Ann's screams were able to alert Kong that she was in danger. Kong quickly came to her and engaged in a fierce battle with the dinosaur, Kong ultimately emerging victorious after fatally prying the theropod's jaw open.
