Sheri was an Arabian adventuress and thief who made two attempts to overthrow Fantomah. In her debut appearance, she acquired an army of Ethiopian soldiers after she claimed to be the rightful queen of Khefra, accusing Fantomah of being a usurper. With her army, she abducted Fantomah's pet panther, Fury, and attempted to sacrifice the beast to bestow a curse on Fantomah. During the ensuing chaos as the ritual was interrupted by Fantomah's arrival, Sheri revealed she had lied to her soldiers of her royal title, and wanted to seize Fantomah's throne and influence and the treasure that came with it. Realizing they were deceived, her soldiers turn on her, and Sheri is forced to flee.

In her second appearance, the now dark-skinned Sheri once again enlists the support of armed men to help her coup, this time from an Arab chieftain and his guards. As Fantomah attempts to poach exotic birds as pets, Sheri's men capture Fantomah and her guard, tying them to a tree. As the men leave to invade the kingdom of Khefra, Sheri stays behind, leisurely waiting for Fantomah to be executed by a passing leopard. Fantomah is saved, however, by her panther, Fury, who fights off the leopard. Enraged, Sheri stabs the panther, but the wound is not fatal, and Fury violently slaughters her.

In a problematic inversion of Sheri's debut, Fantomah then strips Sheri's murdered corpse naked, dons brown makeup, and impersonates her enemy to confuse and deceive the Arab militia attempting to seize Khefra.
