Clarabelle Cow is a cartoon character created by Walt Disney in 1930, she first appeared in the Mickey Mouse comic strip on April 2nd 1930 and is the love interest of Horace Horsecollar as well as a friend to Minnie Mouse.

In her debut, it's stated she got her tonsils removed so she could "talk more more freely" and seems to be a talkative yet sweet, anthropomorphic cow who meets up with Mickey and Minnie after her surgery. And while Mickey is annoyed by her due to her talkative nature, Minnie admires her. She is also known to be friends with Harriet Hen and Patricia Pigg.

Clarabelle Cow’s role in early Mickey Mouse cartoons, particularly ''The Shindig'', solidified her place among Mickey’s circle of friends and established her as Horace Horsecollar’s girlfriend. She also appeared as a member of the Barnyard Orchestra and one of the Chain Gang Inmates. While she had a speaking role in ''The Shindig'', she was largely portrayed as a pantomime character in later shorts.

In her early appearances, Clarabelle’s most distinctive feature was her exaggerated cartoon udder, which became a frequent source of humor through rubber-hose gags. However, the prominence of her udder sparked controversy. In 1931, following complaints from Hays Code censor boards, the Motion Picture Producers & Distributors of America mandated that depictions of cow udders in cartoons be “small or invisible,” effectively censoring the exaggerated feature that had initially drawn both laughs and shock from audiences.

*Not to be confused with the Mechanical Cow who was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's one-time roommate or the Cow, who technically served as a prototype for her.
*The 1931 book The Adventure of Mickey Mouse featured a cow character that greatly resembled Clarabelle's finalized design, though she was referred to in the book as "Carolyn Cow." This name was used for the Cow as Steamboat Mickey's Epic Crew member in the racing game Disney Speedstorm.
*She would become the love interest of Goofy (originally named Dippy Dawg and public domain in 2028) in later iterations.
*All Together was WWII propaganda film that fell in the public domain due to being a wartime film made for the National Film Board of Canada.
