Princess Turandot is a fictional Chinese princess from Puccini's opera Turandot. She is known for her beauty and cruelty, testing her suitors with riddles and sentencing those who fail to answer correctly to death. She is driven by a desire to avenge her ancestress, who was mistreated by invaders. Ultimately, she falls in love with Prince Calaf, who solves her riddles and then reveals his name, breaking her icy exterior.
