Cissie Sommerly is the niece of Whiz Radio owner Sterling Morris, and girlfriend of Billy Batson.

Billy Batson was instantly smitten when he initially met her, as they were walking the halls of the Whiz Radio station, a disgruntled former employee attacked them, causing Billy to transform into Captain Marvel, to stop him. Captain Marvel then asked her if she could ask Billy out for a date, beginning their relationship
