Maeve Malloy was more than a dancer—she was an undercover reporter for the Star Rover, chasing stories across the far reaches of the solar system. Her work often put her in the path of danger, and sometimes into uneasy alliances with Captain Dave Kenton of the Star Patrol.

Their first meeting came on Flayal, when she stole his papers for a lead. Later, working undercover in a pirate tavern, she revealed her true identity to him and begged his help escaping. Together they disabled the pirates’ force-field, opening the way for Star Patrol reinforcements. After the mission, the two shared a rare moment of levity, dancing and sparring with words about Kenton’s next assignment.

Maeve’s pursuit of truth led her into ever more perilous situations. She infiltrated pirate dens, faced the siren-like women warriors of Mimas, and even stowed away on a suicide mission into a region of space where all ships vanished. There she and Kenton were captured by Amalfa the Ancient, who bent them to his will to build traps for other travelers. Through it all, Maeve remained resourceful and daring—reporter, adventurer, and reluctant partner to a lawman whose missions always seemed to entangle her in danger.
