Lomax is a member of the Belzarian Pigmy Soldiers, a diminutive yet fierce fighting force serving the Empress of Belzar. During a campaign against the Earth Space-Busters, Lomax captures Lieutenant April Wing after her unit is overrun in battle.

Following her capture, Lomax and his fellow Pigmy Soldiers present April to the Empress. When the Empress and her advisor Senstral show little interest in keeping the prisoner, the Pigmys request to use her as a blood sacrifice to their deity, Wardo. The Empress consents, attending the ritual herself alongside Senstral.

Before the sacrifice can take place in a rock amphitheater, Captain Brett Crockett and a band of Martian Partisans launch a rescue. In the ensuing chaos, Crockett kills Senstral and frees April, while the Martians defeat the Pigmy Soldiers. The Empress of Belzar escapes, furious at the failure of her troops.

In the aftermath, Crockett captures one of the dwarfs—possibly Lomax himself—as a souvenir for Sergeant Bolo, joking that the creature might share the secret of hair growth.
