Evelyn was Paul Forsyth’s beautiful and inquisitive bride-to-be, whose fascination with the mysterious and supernatural leads to her doom. Despite her fiance's warnings and attempt to destroy the seeds from the mummy's tomb, she secretly cultivates one of the scarlet seeds that grows into a strange white flower. On her wedding day, Evelyn appears weak and ill but insists on wearing the flower, believing it harmless and beautiful. The bloom seems to revive her briefly, yet its hidden poison drains her life, mirroring the fate of Professor Niles. She collapses soon after the ceremony, falling into a state between life and death leaving her new husband to seclude himself to tend to his insensate wife.
