The Manx was a hired killer for the mob, who was betrayed by his own "family." Although federal authorities were unable to make a murder charge stick, they were able to put him away for several years on minor charges. During his years in prison, The Manx made contacts, learned important information about various criminal operations, and plotted his revenge against the family that betrayed him.

Now that he is out, he is prepared to make good on his plans to get his revenge and consolidate all organized crime into one fearsome network. He still takes an occasional job as an assassin or mercenary, in order to make ends meet. He has found that his identity as The Manx helps to inspire fear and protect his identity.

The Green Mask got involved in his case and battled the Manx. Manx is stopped and sent to jail but, not before he kills the murderer. The Green Mask has a scar on the left side of his face from battling The Manx.

The Manx does not have any powers but is an extremely skilled assassin. He generally uses a grapping hook to scale buildings, and then he waits in the shadows for his targets. He has razor sharp claws on his fingertips that can be used to distract an opponent with minor injuries, but he uses the green steel "claw" blade on his right gauntlet to finish his targets, usually by slashing their throats. The Manx uses stealth to gain proximity on his opponents, and if he chooses to reveal himself, it is because he is too fast and too skilled to be stopped, even if his opponent is armed with a gun.
