An unnamed escaped zoo gorilla serves as the antagonist in the Mickey Mouse short The Gorilla Mystery (1930). After breaking into Minnie Mouse’s house, he kidnaps her and ties her up in the attic, prompting Mickey to rush to her rescue. The gorilla taunts Mickey in a cat-and-mouse chase before accidentally tripping over a rope and knocking himself unconscious, allowing Mickey and Minnie to escape unharmed.
