A parade in Cookietown showcases a lineup of elaborate dessert-themed contestants competing to become Cookie Queen. Early candidates include Miss Peppermint, Miss Coconut, Miss Banana Cake, Miss Strawberry Blonde, Miss Licorice, Miss Pineapple, and Miss Orange Crush (whose carriage appears even though she does not). Miss Peach is mentioned but likely cut, and Miss Jello appears ambiguously after the crowning. Despite the spectacle, the judges remain unimpressed.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Cookietown, a humble sugar cookie girl is unable to join the parade due to lacking proper attire. A kind gingerbread man fashions her a beautiful gown from cupcake wrappers, frosting, candy hearts, taffy curls, and a violet bow. She enters the parade at the last moment as Ms. Bonbon.

Upon seeing her, the judges instantly declare Ms. Bonbon the Cookie Queen. She is crowned and presented with a grand cake featuring various suitors including candy cane dancers, barbershop cookies, angel food cakes, devil food cakes, upside-down cakes, and rum cookies, but she rejects them all. When the judges suggest she marry one (or all) of them instead, the gingerbread man is mistakenly dressed like royalty during a scuffle.

Recognizing him, the queen chooses the gingerbread man as her king. He is freed, crowned at her side, and the celebration ends joyfully with their kiss melting the candy screen meant to hide them.
