Señorita Anita Fernandez is the main female character and the daughter of a wealthy Californian family. She becomes involved with the Captain Fly-by-Night during the unfolding conflict and gradually realizes that he is acting with courage and purpose rather than simple lawlessness. Anita is intelligent and strong-willed, often questioning the motives of those around her. Her relationship with Captain introduces a romantic element to the story, and she ultimately comes to respect and care for him.
