The Witch in Hansel and Gretel is a deceptive and dangerous character who lives in a house made of sweets to lure children. She pretends to be kind and welcoming, offering food and shelter, but her true intention is to capture and eat them. After trapping Hansel in a cage and forcing Gretel to help fatten him up, she repeatedly checks if he is ready to eat, though Hansel cleverly tricks her. Impatient, the Witch eventually decides to cook him anyway and tries to trick Gretel into the oven—but Gretel outsmarts her and pushes her inside, killing her.
