Grimgerde is one of the Valkyries in Die Walküre, part of Der Ring des Nibelungen by Richard Wagner. She is a daughter of Wotan and serves alongside her sisters as a Valkyrie whose role is to gather slain heroes from the battlefield and bring them to Valhalla. Grimgerde is written for a mezzo-soprano voice and appears mainly in ensemble scenes rather than as an individual character with a separate storyline, particularly in the Act 3 “Ride of the Valkyries.”
