Suzikawa is a tragic and conflicted figure whose life becomes intertwined with both Rip Jagger and his origin as Judomaster during World War II. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Rip Jagger enlisted in the Marines and fought in the Pacific, where he rescued a young Japanese girl named Suzikawa during a deadly battle that wiped out his fellow Marines. Because Suzikawa was the granddaughter of a respected village leader, her people sheltered and cared for Jagger, ensuring his survival.
Years later, Suzikawa becomes involved with Judomaster and his allies, appearing at first to be a loyal recruit and possible romantic interest. Secretly, however, she is working as a double agent for the Japanese, forced into espionage because she believes her brother is being held prisoner. In a final tragic revelation, Suzikawa discovers that her brother was never an innocent captive at all, but the villainous Acrobat, who willingly served the enemy and manipulated her devotion for his own purposes.
Her betrayal is eventually revealed as part of a larger plot against Judomaster, deeply shocking him, though he ultimately forgives her after learning the truth behind her actions.
