Ma-Bel is a reimagined version of the miller’s daughter in Grandma Gruesome’s Egyptian-themed parody of ''Rumpelstiltskin''. Portrayed with a playful 1950s comedic tone, she is a sharp-tongued, practical, and slightly cynical young woman who dreams of marrying into wealth and often reads the “Lonely Hearts” column. When she becomes caught in the absurd challenge of turning straw into marbles—set against an exaggerated ancient Egyptian backdrop—she handles the situation with exasperated wit rather than fairy-tale helplessness. Facing both the Pharaoh’s demands and the eccentric Rahm-Bul-Slotkin, she ultimately uses clever modern ingenuity, including a radio “reply-man,” to discover the dwarf’s true name and free herself from an unwanted marriage.
