Doris is the woman Tom Leigh loves and intended to marry before the ant apocalypse disrupts their lives. When survival efforts begin, she joins the other remaining humans in the “life-plastic” embalming process created by Professor Larens which allows them to enter suspended preservation to conserve resources and outlast the crisis. In 2052, she is reawakened and selected by Tom as his “death-mate” and partner for testing humanity’s final weapon. Equipped with a weapon pack, she fights alongside him on the surface against the giant ants, ultimately surviving the mission and witnessing the restoration of a clean, habitable world.
