The Red Dwarf, also known as the Deadly Dwarf of Deimos, is an interplanetary displaced person (D.P.) working at the circus whose speech centers were damaged during Sorbo's invasion of Deimos years prior. He goes on a desperate mission to steal a portrait of Bernum to prove the circus owner is actually the tyrant Sorbo. Though labeled "deadly" and driven into a frenzied state after being drugged with "candy," his true intent was to expose a war criminal before he was tragically shot and killed while releasing a beast.

He has a fiercely loyal adopted human daughter named Marge who had been taken in by him as a baby when she joined the planetary circus. When her adoptive father is killed, she initially blames Brant Craig in a fit of grief but quickly redirects her focus to helping him solve the mystery. Her sharp instincts lead her to notice clues—like her father's lack of contact lenses—and she ultimately corners Bernum herself to avenge her father and reveal his true identity.
