Nola Paxton is a wealthy blonde who owns the champion Saturnian racing dog (or Grellama), Singray. On the surface, she plays the part of a helpless damsel in distress, frequently fainting and running to Brant for protection after her purse is stolen and her trainer is murdered. However, she is actually a cold, calculating criminal who bet against her own dog, rigged the race by wedging a diamond between its toes, and orchestrated the murder of her trainer to cover her tracks. She isn't hesitant to pull an "atomo gun" on Brant when her scheme is exposed.
