'''Rose Dawson''' is the tough-as-nails boss of the B Bar Ranch in Mustang Mesa, Utah.

Rose intervenes in a shootout between Benson's men and a group of settlers, driving off the attackers and offering cattle to the needy. Benson, her jealous rival, plots to ruin her and take her land, hiring gunmen and setting ambushes. Rose, proud and impulsive, falls into a trap and loses most of her herd when the cattle are driven over a cliff.

Determined to get revenge, she rides out with her men to confront Benson, but falls into another trap and is wounded. However, Buck Buckley, the wagon train guide who had previously tried to warn her, leads a group of settlers who surprise and capture Benson's henchmen, saving Rose.

In the end, Rose, regretting having treated Buck with disdain and with a softer heart, decides to donate her land to the settlers so they can establish themselves. Buck, who has always admired Rose for her strength and generosity, remains nearby, and everything indicates that a romance between the two is about to begin.
