Rana is a young woman stranded in the negative universe alongside her father, Romrak. She is strong-willed, alert, and fiercely independent despite frequently finding herself targeted by the planet's hostile inhabitants. When the villainous Groob pulls her from a dangerous quicksand-like trap only to abandon her companions, Rana immediately acts, using her quick wits to push Groob into the mire and help her friends escape. However, her victory is short-lived when she is suddenly snatched up by a giant insect monster and carried away to be sacrificed in a fiery, underground ceremonial pit.
