The island girl is the boy's companion and performs graceful hula dances to the music. She shares in the island's joyful atmosphere and later demonstrates courage and ingenuity when she rescues the boy after his bubble carries him into the sky. Riding a flying pelican, she skillfully positions it to catch him safely, making her an important partner in the adventure.
