Mina Weston is introduced through Doctor Seward's account of a mysterious illness that claimed her life before the events surrounding Lucy. Seward explains that Mina, one of Lucy's close friends, suffered from terrifying nightmares and developed two small puncture marks on her throat. As her condition worsened, she gradually wasted away and died, making her the first known victim connected to Dracula's presence in England.

As Van Helsing investigates Lucy's similar symptoms, John Harker reveals a crucial detail: Count Dracula arrived in England just three days before Mina became ill, bringing six large boxes of Transylvanian soil. This connection leads Van Helsing to realize that Dracula has been operating from these boxes, using them as resting places while preying on his victims. Mina's death becomes the key piece of evidence that helps Van Helsing identify Dracula as the vampire responsible for the attacks.

Although Mina does not appear in the main action of the story, her fate serves as a warning of what will happen to Lucy if Dracula is not stopped. Inspired by Mina's tragic death, Van Helsing, Harker, and Seward work to destroy Dracula by purifying his boxes of earth and ultimately locating him in his final resting place. They stake Dracula through the heart, preventing Lucy from suffering the same fate that claimed Mina.

* Dracula (1927 revision)

* In 1927 the play was brought to Broadway by producer Horace Liveright, who hired John L. Balderston to revise the play for American audiences. As a result of Balderston's revision, the names of female characters were swapped, and what was Stoker's Lucy Westenra character became now Mina Weston.
* There is no one listed as playing Mina in the 1927 cast list so a placeholder image of Mina Harker from the 1924 play is used for this page instead.
