Militant Mary is an ardent and unabashed feminist who used sharp verse and wit to critique 1910s sexism and advocate for women's suffrage. Though Mary can be humorously self-effacing, she is no object of ridicule. She is an able deliverer of wise and pithy verses and progressive rhymes accurately illuminating the feminist perspective.
