Betty Mason is the daughter of a supply wagon owner whose mission is to bring much-needed food and provisions to the starving town. After bandits attack the wagon train and kill her father, Betty survives thanks to Carruthers and Sheriff Jake. Despite her tragic loss, she remains courageous and becomes a key figure in exposing the villains' plan. When she overhears Malgrove revealing his scheme to seize the settlers' land, she is kidnapped to keep her silent, making her rescue one of the story's central conflicts.
