A follower of the Aztec rain god Yum-Chac the mighty, she led a group of Aztecs that routinely practiced human sacrifice. She and an associate kidnapped Irene, the sister of Aztec history expert Chet Norris, as she believed the woman was familiar with the rites of Yum-Chac. was smuggled aboard an an ocean liner and into Mexico, into the former Aztec city of Chichen Itza to be sacrificed to Yum-Chac, in order to make the Aztec race mighty again.

Their gruesome ceremony began, and Irene was thrown into the pool of sacrifice, plummeting towards a certain death. Suddenly a certain hawk themed hero swooped in, saving her. Enraged, the Aztecs charged him, only to be defeated by the Mexican police, with Nyola falling into the same pit she had intended Irene to plummet down, seemingly to her death.
