Algie was the water-breathing sidekick to adventurer Barry Kuda. He was also a native to the underwater kingdom Merma and its Queen Marma just like his mentor . He helped to defended the kingdom from its hostile neighbors "the midget kingdom."

While he has no powers, Algie could breathe underwater.
