Rookie cop Dan Richards becomes the costumed crime fighter Manhunter after Jim Kelly, his girlfriend Kit's brother and also a fellow officer, was framed. He manages to clear Jim's name and continues to fight crime as Manhunter. He was assisted by his dog Thor, who would come to his aid with one blow of a super sonic whistle.

His enemies included Xaxol.
