Meteor Martin is a fearless Earth Space Patrol pilot and ace Moon Patrol officer who defends Earth from Martians and other extraterrestrial threats. After a Martian attack transports him to the mysterious negative universe of Gorikon, he becomes the protector of a group of stranded humans. Using his courage, quick thinking, and combat skills, he battles alien creatures, hostile gangs, assassins, and monstrous insects while risking his life to rescue others.

Among the stranded survivors are Rana, a courageous and resourceful young woman, and her father, Romrak, a knowledgeable scientist and engineer. Rana repeatedly demonstrates her bravery and independence, outwitting the ruthless warlord Groob by trapping him in a quicksand-like mire before she is abducted by a giant insect creature to be sacrificed in an underground ceremonial pit. Romrak serves as the group's intellectual guide, explaining the strange laws of Gorikon and devising a way to restore Meteor's grounded spacecraft by adapting it to the negative universe's reversed physics.

Their greatest adversary is Groob, a powerful and ambitious warlord determined to unite Gorikon's violent tribes under his rule. He relentlessly pursues Meteor and the stranded humans, commanding gangs of killers and using advanced technology to hunt them across worlds. Despite his strength and cunning, Groob's arrogance allows Rana to outsmart him during one of his schemes.

Meteor ultimately leads a desperate mission into Groob's underground stronghold to rescue Rana, battling deadly creatures and hostile cultists along the way. The adventure ends on a dramatic cliffhanger as Meteor is thrown into a fiery pit by a monstrous creature, leaving his fate—and that of his companions—unknown.

He carried a ray gun, but usually relied on his strong arms and heavy fists.
