The Great One was the ruler of Eurania, the floating continent.

After kidnapping several pilots from a Louisiana army base, the Great One's plan was to hypnotize them into becoming his personal air force for world domination. The Scarlet Ace, however, managed to free the pilots from the Great One's clutches. While attempting to escape, an air pocket sent the villain 500 ft. below into the sea.

The Great One was armed with advanced technology such as a magnet-ray used to capture planes in flight like a tractor beam. He also possessed about fifty planes and an aircraft carrier to house them which he called his floating continent.

The Great One was a hypnotist able to keep dozens of individuals under his control.
