Like his powerful stone-throwing-weapon namesake, Captain Catapult used his magic cape to hurl himself through the air with ease striking terror into the hearts of evildoers everywhere. His secret identity as Corp. Tom Manley was discovered by "Comics" McCormick whose sister, Connie, was his romantic interest.

Captain Catapult decided to let "Comics" help him clean up a gang of racketeers who were running rampant in the city and run by "Big Butch" Brawler. "Comics" helped Captain Catapult find their secret lair and, after beating up the racketeers, the duo left them at the police station for Officer Kelly.

Later, Mrs. McCormick said that Connie invited Corp. Manley to stay and eat, but he had important matters to attend to. "Comics" agrees with that and his comment gets a surprised look from Connie.

*Captain Catapult was a comic book character within the comic book whose adventures are read by "Comics" McCormick. After reading an issue featuring a Captain Catapult story, he had a daydream about having an adventure with Captain Catapult whom he imagined was secretly his sister's crush, Corp. Manley.
