During the French Renaissance, André, the Count of Dijon, served as leader of the Royal Guard. Though he was not much respected by nobles or commoners, he enjoyed the King’s trust and was even welcomed in his private chambers as a close friend.

When on special missions for the crown, ndré assumed the masked identity of Monsieur L’Epée, a demon swordsman not above using violence to get the information he needed. In his sole recorded adventure, Monsieur L’Epée thwarted a conspiracy against the throne: the plotters intended to plant forged documents, but André challenged their leader to a duel, defeating him and putting an end to the threat.
